Very Sweet and Very Magical

I am trying to narrate an experience of mine where a little more effort from a group of people gave me a day that I would cherish forever.

I,  my wife , my kid and my in-laws were traveling to the native place of my in-laws.  China gollapalem is small village in the west Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. It is some good 430Km away from Hyderabad.   As it was the month of may started the journey quite early in morning to beat the heat. .

It was a long journey in our i10 and we were taking pit stops whenever needed. Now, traveling with a kid is tough.  When you are traveling on road with 14 month old in the month of May,  you are bound to run out of energy at some point or the other.

We visited   Shri Kanakadurga Ammavari temple  and Shri Panakala Swamy temple  and took the blessings as we were traveling through Vijayawada.  It was already 2.30 p.m.  by that time and we were really really hungry.  We were looking for a place that serves good food and stopped by  “The Sweet Magic” restaurant in Patamata Vijayawada. (Not sure if it is the Patamata branch or the Auto Nagar Branch , it was on the road towards Machilipatnam).

Now my kid who had good nap till then woke up and was demanding all the attention she needs in the world.   It was a new place for her  and she wanted to explore it all.  14 months olds are too innocent to realize that their parents are tired. Mark my words they  won’t think twice before  interrupting you as you wish to gulp down the food. It doesn’t matter even if you are starving .  My daughter was at her attention seeking best and my wife, my in-laws were finding it tough to even eat.  I volunteered to stay out and roam her around. As I was doing that something strange happened.

The supervisor of the restaurant volunteered to take my baby into his hands and started showing her around. He asked me to go ahead with my lunch as the buffet would be closed soon.  I was indeed apprehensive and was tailing him.  I can’t trust someone with the darling daughter of mine,  can I ? A few minutes later 2 female staff members of the restaurant joined him. They were playing with my daughter, taking her to all sections (bakery, buffet, the family dining ) of the restaurant and were ensuring that she was smiling and was happy.  They were bringing her near our table every 2-3 mins so as to reassure her and us that she was in safe hands. They  were pampering her with cookies and buns.

They did this for 15-20 mins and gave her back to us only when the family finished the lunch. I thanked them for everything they did and taking good care of our daughter.  I really liked the way they went out of the regular call of duty to make their customers happy.

I am sharing this as I want to everyone to know about the people who make a difference by taking their work seriously.  A big thank you to everyone who made me feel very happy that day. They were very sweet and what they did was magical.
