F1 Comes to India

This weekend we will be having the first F1 race on our soil,  the formula1 drivers  will  fight the seventeenth round of the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship at Buddh International Circuit in New Delhi. A moment of pride for the nation as we become a part of the select few countries who play host to this fast and furious game.

For one thing , the sport coming to India will generate income and employment and  at the same time ensures that we get some much-needed global exposure in the field of motor sports.

Here is a nice pic  I found on thomsonreuters blog.

the track map

Buddh international circuit was designed by Herman Tilke . This is bound to one of the fastest and safest circuits in the world. It is said that the way it has been designed would encourage overtaking and holds a lot of promise for any genuine F1 fan. Lets hope the race on 30th does not disappoint .
